Cranial facial release (CFR) is a technique used to help with a variety of neurological or structural disorders. This specialized treatment can help patients with:
- Seizures
- Bell's Palsy
- Breathing Disorders
- Sinusitis
- Migraines
- Vertigo
- Sleep Apnea
- Post-Concussion Syndrome
- Snoring
How it Works
Our skulls are not made of a single solid bone — especially the bones that surround our breathing passageways. These bones are designed to move as we breathe to allow for increased air to enter our lungs. When these bones don't move normally, they can cause breathing or neurological issues.
CFR works by inserting small balloons inside the nasal cavity and quickly inflating them. This technique unlocks cranial fixations and induces mobility in the cranial systems, restoring normal function.
Treatment Process
Treatment typically takes place on four days within a seven to ten-day period, while the actual balloon inflation takes less than three seconds. Many patients report the procedure feels like having water shot up their nose but don't report any pain. CFR does not require an overnight stay or long-term observation.
Who Benefits from CFR?
CFR has been successfully practiced on patients of all ages — from infants to seniors. It's particularly beneficial for patients who have tried other treatments without success and is cost-effective compared to potential surgeries.
